Can't sign in?
Try these first
- Sign in another way. On the sign-in screen, select Sign in another way or I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now, and pick another method you've set up.
- Not getting a prompt? Open Microsoft Authenticator yourself — the request may be waiting there. Check the phone has an internet connection.
- Using your phone's passkey on a laptop? Turn on Bluetooth and the internet on both devices.
- Using Windows Hello? If you've forgotten your PIN, select I forgot my PIN on the sign-in screen.
Still locked out? Ask for a Temporary Access Pass
Contact your IT support team. After checking who you are, they can give you a Temporary Access Pass: a short-lived code you use instead of your normal sign-in, once, to set up a new method.
- Sign in with the passEnter it when asked. It only works for a limited time, so use it promptly.
- Set up a sign-in method straight away Go to Security info and add a passkey or Microsoft Authenticator.
- Add a backup method tooSo one lost device never locks you out again.
Never share a Temporary Access Pass
Your IT team will never ask you to read a Temporary Access Pass back to them, and this website will never ask
for it. Anyone who asks is trying to get into your account.
